Fledglings Do a Rain-dance
On a scorching hot day in the savannah, the fledglings find refuge under a thorn tree. In a scene reminiscent of a Western, they all feel like melting while watching the veldt and flowers wilt around them. When a heron drops a bit of water on a flower, it perks up and they get an idea: They will dance for rain. It’s not long before they hear a “crack” in the bush and the next moment the heron takes flight, its wings dousing all of them in water. They are elated as they think their efforts bore fruit! Momma and Aubrey join them in celebration.
